Events and workshops
You may wish to consider developing an accompanying programme of workshops, events as a way of increasing audience involvement and encouraging the local community to access the exhibition. By fully understanding the artist’s vision and inspiration the exhibited works will be valued and appreciated more by the local community.
Potential methods of community involvement include:

• Consultation prior to the exhibition
• Involving local residents and community representatives on the selection committee
• Artist-led workshops with school and community groups
• A programme of artists talks and interdisciplinary panel discussion
• Events that enable artists working in other artforms to respond to the exhibition, e.g. - music and poetry evenings
