Audiences
audience looking at exhibitWho is the intended audience(s) for your exhibition? Are the objectives in the exhibit targeted for a specific audience (e.g. mental health service users, students, contemporary arts devotees)? Are you looking to attract a more general audience? Identifying your intended audience and the particular objectives for each audience will enable you to develop a more effective publicity strategy.
Think about who you would like to see at your event and then work out how you can involve them in the project. Focus on those who are most likely to come – service user groups, arts groups, people who regularly attend events and exhibitions and those who come to the venue for other reasons. Think also about those you would like to come – this might include people who live near the venue but who don’t normally use it.
